Preschool Christmas program dress rehearsal

The kindergarteners filled up Mr. Potato again! They chose to wear slippers, eat a yummy snack, and read a Christmas book. They are rockstars! These were some of their “serious” faces, but trust me, they were thrilled!

Books can help us stay focused on Jesus as the center of the Advent season! Today, our Guest Reader brought books that reminded Bethany first graders of these truths: first, that Christmas is God’s gift to us and second, that Jesus wants to be welcomed into our hearts. Thank you, Mrs. Parry, for such beautiful and timely reminders!

5th grade and Kindergarten join together for reading fun!

5th grade make literature come alive by making corn pudding. Yum!

Advent is here, the season of waiting. First graders want to rush to Christmas and Santa and presents, but Mrs. Poppleton is asking them to slow down and to enjoy the wait. The first graders are making Advent alphabet books again this year to focus on the true meaning of the season. Check out some of their first pages. 💕💜

5th grade Meets with our Kinder-buddies for reading.

Today the fifth graders read to the kindergarteners. Such a blessing to be able to have older student come alongside younger students.

We welcomed another Guest Reader into our first grade classroom today! Mr. Lin read *Badger’s Fancy Meal,* one of his family’s favorite books. Thank you for sharing your love for reading with our class, Mr. Lin!

We’re getting prepared for Advent - the season of waiting - in first grade. Our Advent “wreath” (made from student-traced hand cutouts) is ready to count down the weeks to Jesus’ birth. Each week we will “light” a candle to symbolize the Light of Christ coming into the world. We wait. He comes.

The Bethany Lions Choir kicked off the Holiday Season with a first time appearance at the Sierra Madre Winter Festival! Joy to the World the Lord is Come!

From our Bethany family to yours, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day is almost here! After reading *Turkey Trouble* by Wendi Silvano, the first graders designed disguises to keep their turkeys safe (and not eaten!). Check out their creative projects!
