The Classroom Easter Celebration in first grade included a beaded cross craft. Jesus’ Resurrection makes the ugly, violent cross into a beautiful reminder of God’s love and mercy! Our colorful crosses represent Jesus’ victory over death!

The first graders had a special Guest Reader today... our school principal, Dr. Walner! Dr. Walner shared *The Story of the Easter Robin* by Dandi Daley Mackall, a perfect selection for Holy Week. We are getting our hearts and minds ready for Good Friday and for the Good News of Easter morning!

It was a fitting start to Spring Break: first grade released their painted lady butterflies! The butterflies were sent off with a prayer of blessing and with cheers from students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. We are grateful to God for the wonder of creation!

Another first grade update: Metamorphosis is amazing! When we arrived at school this morning, we could see the butterflies’ wings through the thin chrysalis walls. Within an hour, two more butterflies emerged! We are filled with wonder as we watch Creation in action. God is too marvelous for words!
